I checked many Japanese online dictionary, and maybe I think this is the most useful one for Japanese learners.
You can search words in English, hiragana, katakana or kanji, and can look for example sentences in this dictionary. As for kanji, you can even learn its stroke order.

In this dic, you can not only check Kanji, but also find Kanji typing a English word. Using this function, you can even apply Kanji with the same pronunciation to your foreign name!!
